I'm only have way through this scripture and it has inspired my life. I call it scripture because the words speak much faith and knowledge. I grew up Christian in the Mennonite denomination and didn't really enjoy church and didn't feel the faith was really being shown. It seemed 2 sided and I thought "there is more than being spoken of". I tried to descover thyself with no help and I must say it is very hard if not impossible for me to do. I came upon this scripture one day when I had enough of my life and couldn't take the pain anymore. I broke down and gave up and asked "Jesus" for help. A spirit spoke to me and this is where it lead me. "Study Jesus the Christ teachings" it said so this scripture is the beginning of my journey to study myself and understand faith. I recommend this to anybody with an open mind and looking for clerification on there own spiritual journey to know thyself. It has many parables and many stories correlate with the KJV bible. A lot of information is never spoken in the bible that I know of. Levi writes about Jesus the Christs early years growing up. The language is easy to read and understand for all ages. Thanks.

I was always aware that the story of Jesus in the Bible was not the whole story, though the teachings of Jesus given were sufficient for living a true Christian life. Fantastic read. Every page has tons to learn from. It reads as though Christ truly did say these things. The parables the wisdom the mysticism all of it. I have read the bible dozens of times cover to cover in various translations. This book belongs in the canon.

I remember this book when it first hit the shelves back in the 60's and was always intrigued by it. Maybe due to my interest in the missing years of Jesus from the bible (i.e., 13 to 30). Also am a believer in his travels to India and surviving the cross so it especially holds a lot of food for thought.

Well, if you are not too religious, or rather, if you are confused by the Bible, then stories of Jesus and His missing years are well worth knowing about. Strange how they left out His extra studying in the Ashram in the many versions of bible! After all, it is important to know all that is possible about the Real Jesus, not just the political stuff.Yes, like history, there is too much picking, choosing, editing, and deleting in the main versions!

Yesterday I ordered this book to be sent to a pen pal friend in prison. I did so for a few reasons. One is that prisons allow many fundamental Christians virtually free reign in their attempts to "save" the sinners all prisoners are. These well meaning folks in many cases essentially add to the guilt and alientation virtually all prisoners share. Another reason I'm sending it to my friend is that he is well respected for his insights regarding spirituality so when he recommends this book those that know him will be prone to consider what it invites.Reading a few reviews I can see where what is contained in the book is quite threatening. One person looked at it primarily in the historical perspective using the Bible as the benchmark to disagree with its accuracy.For me having first read this work over 20 years ago the invitations within it are not just about Jesus by any means. It is a metaphysical treatise. If one has an open heart and mind there will be found within its pages invitations to move past some of our self created limitations.People quibble if its Divinely inspired. Those that do do not accept and understand that everything is at its core Divine. In time they will.If you are seeking a further understanding of your place and relationship with what Is this book could help.Namaste,Michael

I carried this book everywhere with me in the late 60s and early 70s..A lot of good information and a text telling how to live and treat others-Karma,forgiveness,etc-It tells the story of the lost years of Jesus we never hear about--He is a baby then 33 and crucified-very little in between--This was basically the hippie bible==Even if you don't believe the story per se as told thru prophet Levi you will get something from it--I guarantee it and it is readable--There are thees and thous but not to the point you say" I cant read this.'. Very happy to own it again..

LOVE this cd. It comes with a little pack of "polaroids" from Taylor. A very good album, and thoughtfully packaged!

I have been a fan of Taylor Swift approximately since 2007, after I heard her debut LP that was released in the year 2006. Since then, I have listened to all of her records and I was able to witness her changes throughout the years. I always wanted to write a review about Taylor Swift’s 1989 album, but I thought it would be best to do it after that “era” was over. Now, after almost a year and a half after its release, I decided to write a track-by-track review.First of all, 1989 is Taylor Swift’s first documented pop album. She always flirted with the concept of pop songs but she never went full-out with it. When you listen to 1989, you notice that it is a pop album, but it is far from bubblegum-pop meaningless songs that make no sense at all. As the album title suggests, she was inspired by the music and ideas that were flowing in the decade she was born in, and you can notice that in some songs. Every song on the album is perfectly crafted, they all have her signature heart-on-her-sleeve-open-diary songwriting but you can notice that she has grown as a person by reading the lyrics, something I highly recommend.This album includes the following songs:-Welcome To New York: it is the perfect song to start the album with. Right from the start you can tell that it is a pop song and it sets the tone of 1989. Taylor sings about how moving to the magical and eclectic city of New York changed her and her perspective.-Blank Space: it is one of the best lyrically-written songs on the album. This song is about the man-eating image the media has created of her. Instead of sitting in a corner and cry, she decides to take on that idea and create a catchy song about that fictional character that was created of her.-Style: if there is one song in 1989 that definitely sounds like the 80’s, this is it. In this one she sings about that kind of relationship that always comes back around (“they never go out of style”) and you can hear a Miami Vice vibe hear that is perfect for this song.-Out Of The Woods: this is one of the many highlights of the album. It has a chorus that really makes you feel what she was feeling (“are we out of the woods yet?”) and it is written so perfectly it will be hard to get it out of your head.-All You Had To Do Was Stay: in this song, Taylor does something she has never done before: she incorporated a high-pitched “Stay” in the chorus. The song tells the story of how her lover broke all of his promises and she tells him that the only thing he had to do was stay, but it is too late for him to return.-Shake It Off: probably the most up-beat song on the album, “Shake It Off” is an ode to her independence from everybody else's opinion. In this instant hit, Taylor declares that she is aware of all the things that she is criticized for, but she is not going to change who she is in order to be more liked, she is just going to “shake off” the haters.-I Wish You Would: this is a very innovative song from the point of view of the narrative: it constantly goes between the point of view of two people that were in a relationship and how they wish the other one knew how they really feel.-Bad Blood: This song is about betrayal, and how Taylor was affected by the other person’s actions. It has some strong beats that really makes this song stand out. It would be great if the album also had the version with Kendrick Lamar.-Wildest Dreams: a slow-paced song in which she sings about a relationship that she knows she is going to end sometime soon, so she wishes that her partner remembers her in the best way possible (“standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset”). It is a great song that starts with a minimalistic sound then develops into a larger-than-life song and then goes back again to that intimate sound.-How You Get The Girl: a funny, upbeat song about how a man has to win her heart back. It almost feels like a step-by-step guide met a fairytale, and that is awesome. It is one of the most full-out pop songs and she nails it perfectly.-This Love: this slow song feels like it could be sung by millions of people in a stadium while still feeling intimate. It paints the situation of how she felt her lover had gone but he reappeared out of the blue.-I Know Places: when you listen to this song for the first time, you might say that it is different from what she has done before: and it is exactly that. You can feel that this song is almost like a movie (it even has the sound of a movie starting and stopping at the beginning and at the end of the song, respectively). It is a great song about the fragility of a relationship at the beginning and how she wishes to keep the media away from them given how publicly known she is.-Clean: the song that closes the standard edition of the album, Clean is a masterpiece. In this song, Taylor refers to her relationship as something not healthy for her. She has grown out of it and she wishes to get “clean”, just like an addiction. It really makes you stand in her shoes and it is beautifully written.All in all, 1989 is an amazing album that rightfully won “Album Of The Year” at the Grammy's. I completely recommend it because it shows that Taylor Swift knows who she is and you can see it reflect on her music. Now, all there is left to do is to eagerly wait for her new music and smashing hits.

I don't live in a cave, but I never really paid attention to previous efforts from Taylor Swift. Sure I'd seen her Red commercial for Target and occasionally heard her music, but never anything that made me want to buy her music...until I heard "Shake It Off". It was one of those really catch songs. Then came "Blank Space". Another catchy song.I previewed the songs on Amazon and was really amazed at the fact that I liked all but two, and the two I didn't care for were still listenable. So, I purchased the album from Amazon. Once it arrived, we listened to it on a road trip and we were not disappointed.There are a lot of strong, catchy songs on this album and the remainder are fun ear candy. Even the two songs I didn't particularly care for on the previous were never skipped during continuous play in the car for two hours.In a nutshell, this is the first album I have purchased in about five years. It has a fun, vibrant pop quality. While we listened to the album I made the comment that every few years a new person is called the new Madonna - Brittney Spears, Lady Gaga. But perhaps the next Madonna has been releasing solid albums and mildly reinventing herself under our noses for the past decade.

During 2013-2014, there seemed to be something of an '80s synth-pop revival, led by groups such as Echosmith, and singers Tove Lo, and Charli XCX. Perhaps the artist to offer this resurgence its most lasting and crowning achievement, however, was 24-year-old Taylor Swift. Never one to rest on her laurels, she could have very easily made a "Red" Part Two (and racked up mega-sales in the process, no doubt), but Taylor instead followed her heart, and created an album that reflected her interest in the music produced at or before the year she was born -- 1989.Which brings us to the disc in question of the same name. I am listening to this CD as I write this and am convinced it is a masterpiece, no less than one of the best albums to come out by any artist, male or female, in years. At the time of this writing, it has been out for two years, and yet I still listen to it constantly. It never gets old, and I never get tired of it. I even have one copy for home and one for the car!With "1989," both Taylor's gift for songwriting, along with the big beats and basslines, and timeless synths placed throughout the record, make it an unparalleled gem that demands repeat listens (and I mean repeat!). Each song weaves such a vivid and intricate tapestry of different soundscapes and emotions. Standouts? All of them. There is no filler to be found; EVERY track is brilliant and forms a greater whole. And aside from the music itself, mention must go to Taylor's knack for writing both memorable and meaningful lyrics. Perhaps the most stunning example in this regard is in first single "Shake It Off," where Taylor basically tells all of her haters, both online and elsewhere in the music industry (are you listening, Kanye?), to go jump in the lake. From seeing Taylor sell out arena after arena, not to mention "1989's" mega-multiplatinum-selling status, it is clear who has emerged the victor. Ah, sweet revenge.I think that, in fact, is a big part of Taylor's success -- is that, she is, at the end of the day, a GOOD PERSON, gracious to her fans, and not out breaking the law and drinking and drugging like so many of her peers.And there you have it -- a timeless masterpiece by a beautiful, and immeasurably talented, young woman. I honestly can find absolutely no fault with this record. If you haven't already done so, by all means, go out and buy a copy without hesitation!

I particularly like the many projects shown over time in pictures with descriptions of what was done and why. Clearly, it was a work done out of love for the art and experience that is bonsai.

To read this book was an interesting journey through the authors many years of bonsai. It is very well set out and is more interesting to read than most of the others books (more like instruction manuals)on bonsai. Covers so many different bases.Has given me lots of inspiration and lots of 'oh, why didn't i try that' to use in the future.Was sad to read that the author Dave Joyce past away not so long after the completion of this book. I hope he was happy with the end product because everyone who i meet from now on who has even a little interest in bonsai will be recommended this book as a top pick!

I may be a bit biased because I got it for $15.00....it has 288 pages of info.Made extremely well with glossy pages and hardback.Covers the most popular species,and a nice section on building artificial rock landscapes.Not the only book you will want but will be a great addition to your bonsai library.

The Art of Natural Bonsai was written by a man with great love and passion for bonsai. It is well planned, very readable and contains much very practical and useful information for both bonsai design, planning, and horticulture for the advanced hobbyist. It is artistically magnificent. The "Natural Style" is currently in vogue and this text fills a need as many older books are focused on the classical Japanese styles. It is an excellent investment for any bonsai library.

The first edition, here reviewed, has been superseded by later editions (which I do not own).However, this text remains a favorite reference. It is different enough in conception, execution andpedagogy to warrant perusal by well-prepared undergraduates. The text: twenty chapters & seven appendices.How to review this informative textbook ? Best to start with the exceptional student Problems, which,themselves, are preceded by Questions asking for qualitative discussion.(1) P1.6 ....reviews Scaling Laws ( "....re-derive all the results of example 1.1 for general power law...")and, also, experience acquired with classical action and quantum trajectories (P.1.12, parts a,b,c).(2) P2.1.... already we are factorizing a wave equation. And, P2.9 a useful summation formula and its derivation.(3) P3.9.....Klein-Gordon equation in three dimensions ---a six-part problem, hints provided !(4) P4.5.....Photons and Boltzmann Distribution, five-part problem, with hints, again !(5) Hermitian Operators are explored in some of these problems (P5.11 to 5.14) and Airy Differential Equation explored (5.21).(6) "A classical particle rattling around in a one-dimensional box would exert a force on the walls, the same is true in quantummechanics. To evaluate it consider a particle in the ground-state of the standard well...." The detail regarding Gaussian Wave-Packetsis a nice portion of chapter three, a review of probability offered next. Fifth, Schrodinger Equation, which ends with Commutators.More than you may want to know about The Infinite-Well is presented twice:Once over conceptually, then, formally.We meet a fine, brief, introduction to Propagators (Green's Functions) as conclusion to these two (detailed) chapters; segue tothe next on Many Particles in the infinite-well (Applications abound: electrons in metal, nuclei, neutron stars and white dwarfs).It is here that we meet the Pauli Exclusion Principle: "In this case, Planck's constant has predicted the dimensional factorscorrectly, but the exclusion principle can still play just as important a role in determining the actual state of the physical system."The Harmonic Oscillator is primarily approached via traditional differential equation's power-series solution.Its connections toclassical physics kept in mind throughout.(Pages 202-206). Approximations, next. A nice discussion of numerics, Monte-Carlo,and Rayleigh-Ritz culminate in excellent reviews of matrices with their connection to time-independent perturbation theory.We arrive at one-dimensional scattering, followed by lengthier formal aspects of operators (thirteenth chapter) and another doseof Harmonic Oscillators via factorization methods (here, an excellent fourteenth chapter--we are introduced to Supersymmetry !).The Second Part of the Text (Chapters Sixteen to Twenty)"..where the emphasis switches to more physical systems" (preface),step up to two and three dimensions. I single out two highlights--my personal favorites:(1) Hydrogenic systems.... touches on Rydberg atoms plus Muonic, Pionic,Positronium and Quarkonia.(2) Gravity and Electromagnetism.... touches on Effects of Stark, Zeeman , Ahoronov-Bohm, and Casimir.These enriching chapters (18 &19) provide a wealth of detail, at a level accessible to most undergraduates.The Appendices span the gamut: Complex Numbers,Integrals, Series and Sums,Special Functions, Dirac-Delta,and much more, besides (a brief review of Hamiltonian mechanics). My advice: Look at the appendices beforetackling the textbook. If all appears pleasingly familiar; then, the contents of the text should be accessible.Robinett has provided a most enriching textbook. It might not appeal to all, as it is a bit more challenging than themore popular undergraduate textbooks ( say, the excellent text of Griffiths--his, with slightly different emphasis).More by Robinett in: American Journal of Physics (Volume 70,Number 3, March 2002) and Physics Reports (3 March 2014).This text can serve dual purpose: introductory courses and advanced reference.It is great for an alternative exposition and springboard to advanced material.

This book teaches you a lot of important things that aren't typically covered in an UG book, but it does so a bit too tersely. I used this in my UG QM1 course and hated it. The author throws pages and pages and pages of calculus and algebra at you and you get lost and forget that you were doing quantum mechanics. You sit there trying to evaluate 12 different integrals and do 6 terms divided by 9 terms of algebra and the course felt like "advanced techniques in college algebra" instead of "introductory QM." The gaussian wavepacket problems are exemplary of this.Coming back as an individual now studying QFT/GR and higher, this book is much easier and I'm noticing some things that are insightful, but not digestable due to the pages of work. I completely missed the point of section 14.2 on seperable systems with multiple particles my first time around. It was just too many terms for my puny UG brain to understand. However, once you learn it with the dirac braket formalism, it's as simple as can be. Why would one try to explain the concept of a separable wavefunction with N 3 dimensional integrals of a N particle wave function? Does = not explain this perfectly in a 95% less cumbersome notation? Especially since this is post the "formalism" chapter. Maybe I'm just brainwashed by Sakurai's beautiful use of bras and kets.

Robinett's book is a comprehensive is somewhat mathematical treatment of the fundamental aspects of this fascinating subject.Among the things most pleasing about the book are:1. A constant connection with classical physics principles;2. An early introduction to and development of the wave packet and operators and a physical interpretation of Schrodinger's equation;3. A comprehensive discussion of various QM models in both their mathematical and physical aspects: the infinite well and other 1-D potentials, SHO, scattering;4. Two-D and Three-D QM and the development of the Hydrogen atom;5. Development of Gravity and QM;6. An abundance of examples, many based on experimental results for the student to try out.The mathematics is clear, and unlike many other books, the author takes the trouble to present many of the intermediate steps. I should say, however, that there are quite a few TYPOS sprinkled throughout the text. They are only a minor distraction and if anything, finding and fixing them can be a useful learning experience! My criticsm would be that the sections on the physical and mathematical development of Spin is too short. Indeed, the Stern-Gerlach and associated gedanken experiments which are so fundamental to an understanding of the postulates of QM do not get much of a mention.Having said this, the book is certainly a good introduction to the subject. It complements other traditional texts like French and Taylor quite well.

This is only intro level quantum mechanics book that I have seen that really makes an attempt to get to the heart of the matter of quantum mechanics and its connections to classical physics. The notion of breaking the subject down by dimensionality of the problems is certainly unique and creative. The book covers a wide range of topics ranging from quantum gravity to chaos. Derivations are presented in a clear and readable way. Moreover, the problems are really fun and interesting. My ONLY reservation is that what *I* really like about the book, first time students would probably hate! However, for a course aimed at theoretical students in physics or in chemistry, this would be a hit.
