The book is good, but it's 80 pages less than the Japanese one. They cut so much out, like background scenes, DLC pictures, Opening storyboards, some pictures of the main characters were cut in their profiles, a 6 page interview with the producer(that could have been easily translated). This is just lazy on Prima Games part, considering the book was delayed multiple times. I love Persona 5, it's one of my all time favorite games, but this is a slap in the face to someone that was really looking forward to the english release version.

Compare to the Japanese version, they cut a lot of pages such as storyboard, Japanese handwriting notes, and interview. And they seem change the position of the original pictures. I recommend buy the Japanese version if u can.

 The Art of Persona 5 is a beautiful book that I found stunning to look at and see the development of. The art sketches were out of the box creative and gave excellent descriptions of what went on in the designer's mind when drafting it. If you really appreciated the game's art or are interested in character and setting design, this collection does not fail to entertain all ages in a stylish motif.

First off, yes, this edition has a significant amount of cut content compared to the Japanese version - and for this reason, that edition will always be the definitive one. However, if you are like me and just have a casual appreciation for the style and presentation of Persona 5, this can still be a fantastic item for you.Just a brief review of the physical book itself before I return to this topic. Even in this neutered form, this is still quite a hefty tome, with all pieces of artwork reprinted in crisp high definition. My only real complaint is the thin stock of the cover, which is honestly closer to a sleeve. That said, I have few complaints with the product itself.Back to the actual content, and more specifically, what was cut - a number of pages focusing on fonts, messages, loading screens, battle portraits, and various other minor pieces of artwork are missing from this edition. I personally don't really miss them; they would be nice to have, but they don't add a whole lot to the experience either. The REAL items that people should miss are the short interview with the artist and the storyboard for the opening cinematic. This is a shame, but without the language skills required to interpret them, I can't say I begrudge their exclusion too much. The same goes for the lack of artist's notes on the concept sketches; while they took away a touch of the artist, the artwork itself has been cleaned up.That's all I really have to say for this edition. As previously stated, the Japanese version will always be the definitive version, but don't let that keep from enjoying this book in a convenient English format.

I own both versions (JPN and US) official art works. While this version is actually incredibly impressive and well done, I prefer the Japanese version much more so. About 80 pages of content were cut (including the storyboard for the opening cinematic). While the US version has notes translated by Hashino himself, i was looking forward to reading his interview being translated as well. Also this is a paperback. While it hold extremely well, I just wish it were hardcover to fully support the 412 pages in the long run.

I love me some artbooks and I love me some Persona. This artbook is so good that, when I took it to a con to get signed, I've had voice actors ask multiple times to look through it a little longer or take pictures of their character's pages. It's binded well, the colours and printing are fantastic, and it's so nice to be able to read one in a language I fully understand (because my Japanese is, unfortunately, elementary at best and kanji is difficult for me.) I was really pleased to see this get translated and released. :) GREAT artbook.

As mentioned by other reviewers, this version of the art book has a substantial amount of cut content compared to the Japanese version. You are much better off buying the Japanese version through a book importer if you want to have the complete Persona 5 artbook. The only reasonable argument for wanting this particular item is if the English translations are an absolute must for you.

I love this art book. It's significantly different than the previous Persona art books but I do love that it's twice the size so that I can appreciate the detail even more. I also loved reading the commentary on each character and their design.
