While there may be a bit of sexual content, that is only to be expected when a Succubus is involved, and for the most part it wouldn't even get to Rating R for the sexual stuff. But yes, a succubus does engage in casual sex when she can. This is my shocked face.The main character is a wonderful and delightful character who follows his very basic instincts to murder the everloving hell out of adventurers and take their shinies. This is a tale told from the monster's point of view, where the monster is a monster, and not some reincarnated human, or merely 'misunderstood'. The monster murders because people are tasty, and it avoids getting stabbed with swords because pain is not tasty. Tasty things are good, and one should go after them without reservation. Not Tasty things are bad, and should be avoided, unless you have to go through them to get even Tastier things.

First of all, congratulations to the author for getting the story published to Amazon. Neven Iliev has been working on this story for right around a year now, posting chapters to an online reading site (Royal Road Legends, specifically), and it is one of the best stories on that site. To see it come out on Amazon, I had to go and purchase it for myself, and recommend all those who enjoy a good Fantasy/LitRPG book to as well.Now on to the story itself. Well, it's not what you think. The title, cover art, and the description (including that little blurb at the bottom of Sexual Themes warning) all lead you to think that this is one of those harem stories where the Main Character ends up sleeping with anywhere from ten to one hundred beautiful and scantily dressed women. This is NOWHERE close to the actual story, which focuses on the growth of the titular Main Character, a Mr. Morningwood, on his continent spanning journey to find things that are shiny, tasty or, hopefully, both. Each of the characters are unique and enjoyable, and the world of this story is well thought out and explained in detail while not giving out all the information within a singular chapter. There might be a few clichés common to the fantasy genre here and there, but the author gives them a unique spin or idea to them that they turn out well. All in all, very well done.Other then that, there is not much to say. It's a good book. If you are still not convinced, read through the Prologue before you buy, and make your decision based off of that.Thank you, and have a great day.

This is the story of characters, who remain true to their motivations and past actions, while growing and advancing on their personal paths throughout.Neven Iliev, still can't believe that's his name, has crafted a novel with a rock solid foundation. This is but the first part of a greater whole, which I believe to be one of the greatest fantasy series of the modern age. There is humor and horror both in measure, with compelling adventure and interpersonal relationships to stimulate your imagination and always leave you wanting more. Thanks for the tasty book!

Originally written on the Royal Road, this fan favorite is now available as a full e-book. The author notes that e-book version has the first 3 arcs of the series, cleaned up grammar and spelling errors, and the lewd scenes were toned down.This one seems to be controversial. People either love this story or hate it. It’s a story told from the monster's perspective. The monster in this instance being a mimic imitating a treasure chest. Follow his adventures as he lives in his dungeon, kills adventurers, and levels up. There’s lots of sexual innuendo but little actual sexual content which can be found at the 46%, 58%, and 63% marks. In total it’s only really a handful of sentences and is easy to skip over.For me, it was entertaining to read about a monster leveling up and gaining new skills/powers by munching on some adventurers.Score: 7 out of 10

Is it litRPG if it is never made clear it is an RPG? The story plays out like a fantasy with power and leveling like a litRPG but I can assure you that nowhere will you be disappointed no matter how you wish to classify it. Possibly a tad racy for younger fans but not over the top in that regard and if they are too young for the sexual content they are probably even more immature for some of the graphic descriptions of violence which is common to most books in both genres. Notice these are not complaints merely comments in case you are planning to read it but have delicate sensibilities. ***Spoiler***The title is fun double entendre that pays dividends throughout the book. I like how the main character does not become more "human" throughout the book and is even joined by other alien but more human alien compatriots which helps to bridge the gap. I consider this a spoiler because it is the very inhumanity of the MC that made this book so interesting for me to read. It was almost like a window into how another species sees the world.

It's a great book about key differences between organizational structures in companies with many examples that people will recognize. It's very well written in a way that a person who doesn't have any previous knowledge about organizational hierarchies or structures (e.g. me) can easily understand it.I've already loaned my copy to a friend and they say that it's hard for them to put down.

The Starfish and the Spider: The Unstoppable Power of Leaderless Organizations compares centralized and decentralized organizations. A centralized organization is much like a spider; cut off its head and the spider dies. A decentralized organization, on the other hand, is like a starfish. When an arm of the starfish is cut off, the starfish generates an entirely new body.Published in 2006, Brafman and Beckstrom explore and explain the increase in the number of decentralized organizations. Their discussions of organizations such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Napster, and Al-Qaeda make the concepts of decentralized organizations not only pertinent to today’s economy and culture, but also understandable. The traditional top-down hierarchy of centralized organizations creates levels of bureaucracy that make change within an organization slow-going. By the time the change is implemented, it is out of date and in need of modification. These spider organizations have a command and control which dictates the movement of the organization; those employed must comply or risk being out of a job. A decentralized organization creates an environment where there is no head; all are equal and free to contribute to the changes and sustainment within an organization, acting as a form of distributed leadership. In this starfish organization, the members of the group must convince all other members to move and change; the collective make changes happen. Norms, not rules, control a starfish organization.The internet has changed how we view the world, the next generation of professionals and work-force employees will have grown up with access to knowledge, and the ability to contribute to that knowledge freely. Employees are looking for the catalyst for change to get the starfish moving, and then having that catalyst get out of the way so the employees can make the organization successful. This book is a key addition to professional reading lists for leaders and managers at all levels, educators and students, as well as employees within any organization.

A 100% centralized organization cannot thrive in the modern economy, and a 100% decentralized organization might work for high school or college students running a tech upstart. The book was written in 2005 or 2006, so the NUMMI auto plant example worked at the time, but the plant shut down in 2010 due to the subprime mortgage crisis an the serious economic meltdown. It's now mainly owned by Tesla, to produce Tesla Model S cars. And the NUMMI plant made some of the lamest and soulless cars in existence (80s Chevy Nova, Corolla, Geo/Chevy Prizm, Matrix/Vibe etc...)Overall: It's worth a read, but would be more apropos on a coffee table or as a summer reading "extra" versus a serious academic evaluation of different approaches to leadership.

"Photography, which has so many narcissistic uses, it also a powerful instrument for depersonalizing our relation to the world." This statement is emblematic of the author's attitude throughout her dazzling but ultimately deflating analysis of photography. Sontag's intellect is unquestionably clear-eyed and sharp, but her consistent comparisons of photography to consumption, theft, and even rape wore me down as a reader. I don't have the rhetorical muscle to challenge her points and would have to concede many of them; as someone who likes to take pictures her book left me feeling flat. If you are seeking something attesting to photography's virtues as an art form, you'll find very little here. But On Photography is so well written it is worth reading anyway for its many kernels of wisdom . . . however distasteful they are at times.

This got me thinking about photography in a way I never have. Now I have a strong understanding of what the medium is, and a better grasp of what to do to make my work stand out. Ms. Sontag is an intellectual without peer, her choice of words so eclectic yet perfect in expressing her deep understanding of this field. It's a pleasure to sink ones mind into her words, revel in her clarifications, soak up her insights and intelligence. This book is a classic for a reason. If you're a photographer trying to get a greater grasp of what it takes to be grand or noticed in this business, you will walk away with a deeper understanding of this world and its history. A terrific asset to any photographer gravitating towards the arts.

As everything she wrote, Susan Sontag's book on photography is brilliant. It is a set of essays on the "philosophy" of picture-taking and the meaning of photography in the modern (ca. 1970) world. Anyone interested in the social roles of photography will find this book fascinating and thought-provoking. I originally read it when it first came out and was immensely impressed and a second reading showed it to be as impressive now as then, even though the technology and use of photography has changed a good deal.

This should be a must read for any photographer whose mind seeks to go beyond the technical aspects of photography. When I read it, many of her comments were aimed at those "snapshot prints" that ended up in photo albums, thus lacked impact for me as digital photography was then my new medium. Now, with the the iPhone or equivalent running amuck, and the age of "selfies", which I would rename "narcisstics" for the "me, me, me" crowd, it regains impact. Yes, the medium is the message.I didn't like much of what she said as she was your typical leftist intellectual. The truth is she really had something to say about the meaning and content of photography. This alone puts her in a class probably by herself. I love photography and have been taking pictures since 1959. I don't know of one other book that even comes close to dealing with the real impact of photography. It is not a book for the "sheeple". If you are serious about photography - read it! It should make you angry, and challenge your beliefs. We all need more of that. I'm re-reading it now for about the tenth time. Every time I read it I get something new and challenging from it. You can't say that about many books today.

I'm through the first chapter so far it's communicated a lot of very simplistic, redundant statements to me. They're good, I suppose, but the rest is just babble....comparing cameras to guns, penises...yeesh. She observes things through very small frames that fall apart if you step outside of and question them for a moment. I'm reading it for a course and it has all the depth you'd expect from a photography theory (not much).

I must confess that it was a difficult read and was not really rewarding. There were some insightful statements and observation but the essays were boring. One fatal defect was the lack of illustration which was quite impractical when you were discussing or describing photos.

The printing has been done by a third party. It’s cheap and takes all the pleasure of holding a book away. I do not understand how to report this amazon prime scam. ‘New’ prime books are likely to be poor quality reprints. Theres no way to know what you are going to get (angry emoji)

I really liked this book because I have a different way to look at the world. Sontag really makes you think about perspective. I also loved how well read and/or verse she is in world literature.

About the Author

Michael Burgan has written numerous books for children and young adults during his nearly 20 years as a freelance writer. Good book for certain reluctant readers: 3rd or 4th grade reading level without having a childish looking cover. Reader gets to / has to make story line choices. A good transition to chapter books. Short sections that reduce reading intimidation.
